Duties
- Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Early Head Start program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Head Start Performance Standards.
- Oversees program operations, budgets, and grants, supervising multidisciplinary staff, and fostering a culturally inclusive and anti-racist environment.
- Works collaboratively with families, staff, community partners, and governing bodies to promote high-quality services for children and families.
- Lead preparations for federal and state audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings to address program goals, challenges, and professional development needs.
- Facilitate the Policy Council and/or Parent Committee, ensuring parents have a strong voice in program governance and decision-making.
- Foster relationships with families to promote meaningful engagement in their childs development and program activities.
- Conduct outreach to community organizations and stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and recruit eligible families.
- Represent the program at state and federal Head Start meetings, advocating for the needs of the program and the community it serves.
- Stay informed about changes in policies and regulations that impact Early Head Start programs.
- Develop and monitor program budgets to align with federal grant requirements and program goals.
- Prepare and submit grant applications and reports in accordance with funding guidelines and timelines.
- Integrate anti-racist principles into program policies, practices, and interactions with staff, families, and community partners.
- Bachelors degree in a field related to job responsibilities preferred.
- Five years experience in an early childhood educational setting; supervisory experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
- Experience working with families and in a community setting or home visiting program preferred.
- Valid CPR and first aid certifications or willing to obtain.
