Duties

  • You will perform the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
  • You will monitor and maintains system resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • You will resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems to include virtual and/or cloud instances.
  • You will carry out the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, enhancements, and migrations. Manages accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
  • You will plan and execute the installation of new or modified hardware (both physical and virtual) to include operating systems upgrades.
  • You will ensure information systems are registered, tested, validated, and in full compliance with established security controls and Department of Defense (DoD)/ Department of Navy (DoN) cybersecurity regulations

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451 System Administrator, proficiency level intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing installation, testing, and maintenance of software and hardware systems to manage systems availability, functionality and efficiency in accordance with cybersecurity requirements.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-03 (GS-9/10 equivalent) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing hardware or software requirements or product upgrades to troubleshoot and resolve systems issues in accordance with cybersecurity requirements.

Possible Substitution of Education for the NT-04 is the following:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
