**POSITION PURPOSE**

The purpose of this position includes, but is not limited to, assisting in all clerical tasks associated with the origination of the mortgage loan, completing post-closing tasks, working with Accounting to balance GLs and loan costs and working with the servicing team to onboard or sell loans.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES**

  • Receive and review loan applications for completeness.
  • Conduct interviews or contact members for additional information as necessary.
  • Accurately input loan application data into Mortgage Operating Systems.
  • Prepare loan disclosure documents for signatures in accordance with Credit Union procedures.
  • Create loans in automated system through data entry.
  • Assist loan processors/closers in loan closings.
  • Perform all post-closing tasks for closed loans.
  • Prepare and process Adverse Action Forms and/or Incomplete Notices.
  • Maintain mortgage GL accounts and resolve any discrepancies with Accounting in a timely manner.
  • Prepare correspondence as necessary.
  • Ensure sensitive items, files, and original loan documents are secured properly.
  • Attend and participate in all meetings, trainings and committees as required.
  • Participate in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union in the community.
  • Satisfactorily complete all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include Bank Secrecy Act compliance.
  • Ensures work area and assigned equipment are clean secure and well-maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

**PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS**

  • Loan file data and quality control are in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures. Established standards are maintained and duties are performed efficiently in the least time possible.
  • Ensures records, documents, and files are complete and accurate.
  • Professional and courteous working relations exist with members and business professionals. Assistance, information, and document copies are provided as needed.
  • Effective working relations exist with Credit Union personnel. Branch and loan personnel are well supported and assisted.
  • Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • The Credit Unions professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
  • Fortera Core Values are satisfactorily demonstrated.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education/Certification

  • High school graduate or equivalent; additional business coursework helpful.

Experience Required

  • One to two years mortgage lending related experience preferred.

Preferred Knowledge

  • General understanding of Credit Union operations.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union loan and mortgage documents and state title requirements.
  • Understanding of loan applications and filing requirements.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.

Mathematics Ability

  • Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs.

Language Ability

  • Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5-6,000 words; to read at a slow rate; define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.
  • Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, adjectives, and adverbs.
  • Ability to communicate in complex sentences; using normal word order with present and past tenses; using a good vocabulary.

**PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION**
