The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainments mission is to support and strengthen New York City’s creative economy and make it accessible to all. The agency currently comprises four divisions: the Film Office, which coordinates film and television production in public places; NYC Media, the largest municipal television and radio broadcasting entity in the country; Creative Sector Programs, which supports workforce development and the film, television, theater/live performance, music, publishing, advertising, and digital content industries; and the Press Credentials Office, which issues press cards. NYC Media is the City’s official broadcast network and media production group. NYC Life, the City's flagship channel offers programming that informs, educates, and entertains New Yorkers about the City's diverse people, neighborhoods, services, attractions, and activities. Accessible both over-the-air and via 7 different cable carriers, NYC Media reaches approximately 18 million people in a 50-mile viewing radius available 24/7. NYC Gov, the City’s municipal channel, provides government transparency from the chambers of City Hall, live City Council coverage, City Planning Commissions and more. WNYE 91.5 FM Radio provides NPR news and talk, world music, and local community programming, reaching more than 12 million listeners within its 40-mile radius.
Responsibilities will include:
Day - Due to the necessary duties of this position in a 24/7 operation, candidate may be required to work various shifts such as weekends and/or nights/evenings.

Minimum Qualifications
The preferred candidate should possess the following: - 5 years of experience in non-linear editing - Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro (experience with Photoshop, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve a plus) - Proficiency with Mac - Demonstrated ability to work on both long-/short-form, as well as scripted and unscripted projects - Strong organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Prepare project elements: ingest footage, review media, and tag/name media files for efficient retrieval;
- Edit unscripted and scripted projects: full episodic programs, short-form/long-form, and promos;
- Story development and story editing;
- Work from a script with a producer, as well as, independently by selecting footage and developing the storyline of a program;
- Follow and/or lead technical and media management work flows;
- Track all necessary assets, deliver industry standard products;
- Ensure quality and integrity of final delivered assets for broadcast;
- Organize assets into archivable form; ensuring proper labeling, storage, and the ability to retrieve project along with associated footage;
- Archive projects according to internal guidelines;
- Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
