Overview
The Administrative Fellow will be responsible for managing and executing a variety of operational and strategic projects across the ARH system. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in healthcare management while working alongside executive leaders. The fellow will be tasked with identifying areas for improvement, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful implementation of system-wide initiatives.

The Administrative Fellow will be responsible for managing and executing a variety of operational and strategic projects across the ARH system. This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in healthcare management while working alongside executive leaders. The fellow will be tasked with identifying areas for improvement, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful implementation of system-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support operational improvement projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring milestones are met.
- Utilize data and analytics to assess project outcomes, measure performance, and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure projects are aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
- Work closely with ARH executives on high-priority projects and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in executive meetings, providing insight and recommendations for system-wide operational improvements.
- Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership.
- Analyze current operational processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and service quality enhancements.
- Design and implement workflow improvements, addressing inefficiencies in areas such as patient care processes, supply chain management, or staffing.
- Ensure best practices are documented and standardized across the system.
- Contribute to the development and execution of ARH’s strategic plan, particularly in the areas of operations, patient care, and resource management.
- Research industry trends and innovations, proposing recommendations for implementation within the ARH network.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies for sustainability and growth, particularly in rural healthcare delivery.
- Serve as a change agent, supporting organizational transformation efforts.
- Work with managers and staff to build buy-in for new processes, technologies, or operational changes.
- Assist in training and development related to new systems, tools, or methodologies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with department heads, clinical teams, and support staff to foster collaboration.
- Engage with external partners, community leaders, and regulatory bodies as needed for project execution.
- This role requires regular travel across ARH facilities to oversee project progress, meet with on-site teams, and ensure alignment with system-wide objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education
- Recent graduate with a Master's in Health Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or related field.
- Strong interest in healthcare operations and project management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
- Previous internship or work experience in healthcare management, project management, or operations.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, and rural health challenges.
- Proficiency in project management tools
