Job Description
Full time position. Day and evening shifts available, with varying days.
Certification/Licensure
Provides support and stabilization services to clients in the Walk-in Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides peer and crisis support services, information, education and support for clients. Promotes wellness, recovery and skill building through group and individual interventions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides support and interventions in both group and individual settings, focusing on the improvement of the client’s functioning and mental health needs. Facilitates peer led groups to assist clients in identifying personal recovery goals, effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Connects clients to recovery supports. Obtains vital signs and reports results to nursing. Completes 15-minute safety checks. Provides assistance, supervision and interaction to client throughout work shift. Inventories, documents and secures client belongings. Ability to de-escalate clients using evidence-based de-escalation training, e.g. Therapeutic Options, to include safety holds, as necessary. Use of basic technology, such as data entry and documentation of vital signs and shift notes. Provides assistance during medical emergencies as directed by nursing staff. Occasional local driving to support operational and administrative tasks.

Education Level
High school diploma or GED required.

- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist required.

- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Basic computer skills
- Skill in crisis intervention (preferred)
Education Level
High school diploma or GED required.
Years Of Experience
- One year job experience in mental related field preferred. Education/experience equivalency may be considered upon approval.
- Lived experience with mental illness, substance use, or homelessness and/or experience gained through family member’s mental health/substance use.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist required.
