Under the supervision of the Friend of the Court Records Supervisor/ greets clients at the front desk. Answers general questions as well as questions regarding court hearings, account balances, and docket numbers. Fields questions and directs clients to appropriate FOC/court staff. Performs a variety of general clerical support tasks including word processing, data entry, printing and forwarding documents for filing. Must be able to communicate with and deescalate irate or upset clients.
Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience: Must have at least 6 months related work experience and be able to use word processing. Court or legal office work experience preferred.

- Greets clients at the front desk. Answers questions the receptionist is qualified to answer. Performs computer searches to obtain necessary information to answer inquires. Informs clients of services available to them through the Friend of the Court office. Hands out forms and manages the forms that clients fill out at the front desk. Directs clients to the proper worker and notifies that worker they have a client waiting for them.
- May communicate with upset and/or irate clients on a daily basis.
- Answers inquiries regarding court hearing dates, account balances and docket numbers. Responds to routine inquiries as able regarding general office policies and procedures, staff availability, scheduling information, office hours and related matters. Checks in clients for a variety of hearings.
- Maintains inventory of various forms at the front desk.
- Assists the Records Section of the Friend of the Court with data entry and any other clerical duties that may be assigned.
- Stamps in mail received at the front desk. Reviews for missing information and distributes as appropriate.
- Review and updates information from Personal Protection Petitions and Orders. Sends out confidential address letters when required.
- Review and update client information from Personal Information forms. Forward the form to appropriate staff when there is a change in name, employer, and/or medical insurance.
- Process payment history request received from clients once verifying the person's identification. Updates address information when necessary.
- Utilizes the Investigators and Referee calendars to check in clients, attorneys, witnesses and children for in-person hearings, conferences, and interviews. Checks identification. Makes updates to the calendar, as needed.
- Maintain and update visitor and check-in logs for the office.
- Review opened mail envelopes to ensure all contents have been retrieved. Forward any found documents or checks for processing.
- Process DHS-1929 requests by sending an encrypted e-mail to the designed e-mail address and update MICSES with a note.
- Must adhere to strict Office of Child Support and IRS rules of confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
Experience: Must have at least 6 months related work experience and be able to use word processing. Court or legal office work experience preferred.

- Must have good data entry, mathematical and public relations skills.
Working Conditions
- Works in office conditions.
- Ability to audibly utilize and answer standard voice telephone equipment.
- Ability to hear and greet and interact with general population clients of the court and verbally give them instructions and or directions.
- Ability to effectively handle irate and/or upset clients.
- Ability to visually proofread forms and documents.
- Ability to enter and retrieve information from a computer.
- Ability to perform office procedures requiring bi-lateral manual dexterity.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of sitting.
- Ability to lift and carry files.
- Ability to operate copy machines and other office equipment.
- Ability to get around the office at a reasonable rate of speed.
