What You Will Do
This position performs all project management responsibilities on engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) projects and is responsible for job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of establishing an execution framework that complies with the contract and ensures the safety, quality, budget, and timeliness of the completed project. This position reports functionally to the VP of Projects.

What You Will Do

This position reports functionally to the VP of Projects.
Responsibilities Include
The job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assure safe project execution consistent with cost, schedule and contractual requirements while maintaining bottom line responsibility for Electra’s success.
- Deliver expected results for HSE, quality, budget, and schedule performance.
- Serve as prime point of contact between the contractor(s) and Electra.
- Monitor and manage contractor performance and hold the contractors accountable for delivery of their scope of work.
- Define precise scope of work and identify changes between the original proposal and final contractual agreement.
- Negotiate and manage changes with the contractors.
- Lead contract management process, from Pre-Award to Close-Out, including handling claims and back charges.
- Responsible for management of construction and support commissioning and startup for project(s).
- Responsible for obtaining necessary permits for the completion and start-up of the project.
- Coordinate interfaces with various stakeholders, including Project Management, Construction, Contractors, Vendors, Project Controls, Quality, Safety, Finance, etc.
- Plan the project execution and revise the plan as necessary and assure adherence to the plan.
- Keep the Executive Management advised of project status.
- Leads the project management team and is responsible for the successful completion of project(s).
- Safeguard the Company’s interests by mitigating risks.
- Assure the project execution is in accordance with policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by Electra or industry standards.
- Bachelor’s or Advance Degree in Engineering
- Total twenty (20) years of experience out of which fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) project management preferably in oil & gas, chemicals or mining industries.
- Experience in multi-office execution.
- Good knowledge and experience on project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start up, turn over work processes, sequencing, and interfaces.
- Understanding of Project Controls and Finance including understanding of Scheduling (including work force loading), Progress measurement, Risk assessment and management, Code of accounts, Work breakdown structure, change management, Cost control, Estimating process and planning
- General understanding of contracts and when to engage legal team.
- Understanding of project funding.
- Experience of multiple commercial executions structures including Lumpsum / Reimbursable / Guaranteed Maximum price (Gmax) / Fixed Price.
- Proactive, goal orientated with the initiative to influence events positively, lead project team, and influence decision making process.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and to be comfortable in complex project environments.
- Ability to set and maintain high standards of self-performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks.
- Job related skills required - Strong leadership skills, customer focus, business acumen, influence, strategic agility, decision making, personal accountability, ownership and follow-through, team player, mentor, and coach.
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $200,000-$228,000 a year and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
