Description
The Sr. Director, Brand Marketing will provide strategic leadership and direction for Funko’s marketing efforts in the US, driving brand heat, growth, key product launches, consumer engagement and overall demand generation for the Funko brand. This senior leadership role will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve Funko business objectives, with a focus on driving brand awareness, brand sentiment and traffic to our DTC and wholesale channels. Reporting to the SVP, Brand, this role will collaborate with senior leaders across functions and regions to drive strategic alignment and scalable processes to ensure cohesive brand presence globally. The Sr. Director, Brand Marketing will lead, develop and oversee the Funko US based Brand Marketing team, including the Integrated Marketing and Product Marketing functions, leading them in the development of a meaningful brand and product story calendar and working cross-functionally to bring it to life. They will establish the processes, tools and ways of working to enable scale, while remaining true to our brand ethos. They will challenge teams to think creatively to bring programs to life in authentic, engaging, disruptive and inspiring ways, tapping into the cultural zeitgeist to engage the fan and introduce new product lines. Able to successfully lead within a sophisticated matrix organization, this role will have critical influence across functions and collaborate closely with peers across the organization, including DTC, sales, product, merchandising, creative, licensing, finance and other cross-functional teams.

Your Superpowers in Action
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $150,000 - 200,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Your Superpowers in Action
- In partnership the SVP, Brand, lead the development of Funko’s brand architecture and brand strategy, ensuring leadership and cross-functional alignment on vision and roadmap for execution. Establish brand voice and visual identify, amplifying across channels and regions to drive cohesion of the brand globally.
- Oversee all integrated, go to market strategies that include social media, events, product marketing, public relations, paid media and brand/creative for the Funko brand. Ensure consideration for and support of wholesale marketing initiatives; both through in store visual merchandising and with strong digital presence.
- Drive the development of brand collabs and speed to market programs/opportunities, assisting in talent engagement, contract negotiations and disruptive launches to drive impact and heat for the brand.
- Implement process for cross-functional insight into brand marketing efforts, including peers/partners in sales, DTC and leadership more broadly. Ensure socialization and evangelization of Marketing’s work across the org.
- Manage a marketing budget that achieves upper funnel awareness and impressions, while partnering with performance marketing to drive conversion on site. Drive strategy across both teams to ensure that upper/lower funnel objectives are being met and that paid media spend is being maximized.
- Partner with business, product, and sales leads to align marketing plans to strategic business objectives and milestones such as awareness and sell through of new product lines
- Lead the development and cross-functional alignment of the annual marketing calendar to inform campaign and story creation and prioritization, product development and aligned assortment, and robust sell-in material.
- Ensure Funko marketing team is delivering best-in-class capabilities and partnership across all departments, instilling a culture of collaboration and curiosity, with results driven mindset
- Collaborate across shared marketing services and brand marketing leads to share best practices and maximize on cross-brand opportunities
- Drive disruption, innovation and creativity throughout all marketing channels
- 10-15 years’ experience in marketing, 10+ years managing and developing teams
- Experienced leader with ability to set the vision, create and develop processes to enable the work, and coach/develop team members to achieve their highest potential
- Natural collaborator with team-first mentality; can lead both through influence and authority
- Experience working within and developing integrated marketing strategies for an omni-channel, global consumer brand
- Ability to work across the art and science of marketing; knows how to interpret data, extract insights, and leverage them to tell creative, innovative stories
- Tapped into pop-culture and fandoms; understands consumer affinities across film/television, music, sports, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to think from a consumer centric lens; always puts the fan at the forefront of strategies, programs and initiatives
