Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for directing property operations for the buffet and coffee bar outlets by working within the overall company strategic planning and policy framework; directs operating entities for successful implementation of corporate business policies, goals and objectives; provides input and support in the conceptual, strategic and policy formulation functions of the company; directs and coordinates organizational operating activities to achieve optimum operating efficiencies and economies, and maximize company revenues and profits.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Hires, motivates, evaluates, and directs property leadership to ensure adequate guidance and resources are available to accomplish established goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the development of operating entities, personnel, products/services and market resources within span of control to accomplish short-term and long-term goals and objectives.
  • Interprets company policies and plans and establishes strategic management and operating plans for each department to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Exerts a consistent and effective management presence and provides clearly defined, exemplary leadership for the achievement of short-term and long-term company goals and objectives.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies for the respective departments.
  • Implements new and innovative strategic business plans in accordance with company policy to develop existing and potential business units to achieve established and potential business goals.
  • Provides strategic information and suggests strategic direction to the Director of Food and Beverage concerning operating entities, business opportunities, and growth and development capabilities.
  • Perform work regularly and predictably.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Non-essential Functions

  • Attend seminars when needed.


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or business administration; or 7 to 10 years related Gaming/F&B experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years management experience in an executive level position is required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.


Knowledge Of

  • Ability to research, analyze, comprehend, and act upon information and be aware of the business environment in order to effectively manage areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to review and comprehend financial data and internal reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, outside contacts, and all levels of team members.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.

  • Obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations.
  • Work in a drug free environment and pass a chemical dependency test as required.
  • B e flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • This position spends time on the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
  • Identify strategic issues, prioritize workload and identify and develop effective programs to maximize performance.
  • Obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
