Not Your Mother's Haircare

Date: 21 hours ago
City: Tampa, FL
Contract type: Full time
Description

JR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

At Not Your Mother’s Haircare we celebrate our differences and create high quality, salon-inspired, clean haircare products for all generations. We’re bold, different, and always evolving. We don't follow trends; we set them. We celebrate inclusivity and diversity. That’s why we’re always listening, from behind the scenes in sunny Florida, where every product we develop starts with you. We make a path for every person to express their unique self because self-expression = self-love. We reimagine your haircare products, building in benefits you didn’t know were possible. We transform salon treatments and the latest haircare trends into at-home realities. We source clean, quality ingredients that don’t quit and are cruelty free. We want all our customers to feel like they are getting the highest quality beauty care products without the high dollar salon pricing. The brand is expanding, and so are the opportunities for career advancement. You will help showcase the unique products of NYM to the world.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer who’s obsessed with beauty, has a sharp eye for design, and is ready to

create scroll-stopping content while learning the ropes of packaging design. You’ll support both our marketing and

innovation teams, designing creative assets for digital campaigns and dipping into packaging with hands-on mentorship.

Reporting to the Creative Director, you’ll grow your skills in both worlds: what consumers see online and what they pick

up off the shelf. If you’re excited by bold branding, the inner workings of the beauty industry, or you’re the kind of

person who notices kerning on a hairspray bottle or screenshots Instagram ads for inspo, you’ll fit right in.

Major Green Flags If You

  • Stay up to date on TikTok trends but also appreciate a perfectly curated and designed social layout
  • Have a saved folder full of inspo – from beauty flat lays to campaign visuals and packaging moments
  • Naturally think in grids, color palettes, and typography – design isn’t just what you do, it’s how you see
  • Work well with a team, take feedback like a pro, and know how to keep things moving under pressure
  • Want to grow into a well-rounded designer across digital and physical formats

Responsibilities

Marketing Design (Digital, Social & Ecommerce)

  • Design digital assets that are fresh, branded, and scroll-worthy across social, email, and web
  • Create illustrations, icons, and branded elements to support campaigns and internal creative needs
  • Support product launches with campaign assets across owned and paid channels
  • Create visually elevated PDP (product detail page) assets that clearly communicate product benefits
  • Contribute to internal decks, moodboards, and branded presentations using PowerPoint and Canva
  • Assist with cropping, light retouching, and finalizing selects from shoots and brand productions
  • Stay tapped into creative trends and bring ideas that resonate with Gen Z audiences, all while keeping

everything on-brand

Packaging Design (Training & Execution)

  • Support packaging design development for new and existing products under senior guidance
  • Support production needs including layout, print setup, file prep, and reviewing proofs
  • Learn and assist with production specs, typography for print, color callouts, and material finishes
  • Ensure all packaging aligns with brand guidelines while pushing the creative forward
  • Assist in the creation of influencer and PR mailers, ensuring all print elements are visually compelling and

aligned with campaign goals

  • Contribute to the design of meeting materials, internal brand communications, and other collateral that brings

the brand to life, including tools that support storytelling across sales touchpoints

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in graphic design (internships welcome!)
  • A real passion for beauty – branding, packaging, product drops, and everything in between
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • A portfolio that shows off your digital design skills, eye for detail, and creative thinking
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and jumping between formats (social, ecomm, packaging)
  • Open to feedback, excited to learn, and easy to collaborate with
  • A design degree is great – but not required if your work speaks for itself
