The manager, Partner Relations is responsible for leading a team of partner relations professionals while also supporting partners and leaders across the organization with escalated partner relations matters. In this capacity, the manager, Partner Relations upholds, interprets and provides coaching on Starbucks policies, procedures and programs.

As a Manager, Partner Relations, You Will

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 6+ partner relations professionals.
  • Consult with leaders on human resources-related questions and concerns that involve a high degree of complexity or risk to the business. Provide consultation to ensure accurate interpretation of employment laws and regulations, and consistent development and delivery of corrective action.
  • Lead or coordinate investigations of escalated partner relations matters and other HR issues and concerns involving allegations where there is a high degree of complexity or risk to the business. Lead resolution of issues in accordance with Starbucks standards.
  • Interpret and drive evolution of Starbucks HR policies, procedures, standards and practices.
  • Analyze metrics and share insights related to partner relations matters for defined areas of accountability.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with regional Partner Resources and leadership teams.
  • Identify, lead and/or participate in project work to ensure consistency across the organization and build leader capability in partner relations.

  • BA or BS in Business, Psychology, Education, Communication or related field. Closely related human resources work experience or training may substitute for advanced education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 6+ years of increasingly responsible human resources generalist or related operations experience with an emphasis on employee relations, including coaching/performance management, consultation and performance development.
  • 4+ years of consulting with internal clients to identify business needs and recommend solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience managing others.
  • Knowledge of local, federal and California employment laws and regulations
  • PST, MST or CST time zones preferred

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
