Ready to Revolutionize Educational Events?

Imagine crafting experiences that make parents and students say "wow" – not just another school open house. As our Director of Event Management, you'll be the architect behind Alpha's innovative event strategy, transforming how we showcase our revolutionary two-hour school day model across the nation.

We're not just looking for an event coordinator – we're seeking a visionary who can build a scalable event ecosystem from the ground up. Starting in Austin and expanding to 25+ markets, you'll create unforgettable moments that reflect our commitment to challenging educational norms.

If you thrive on strategic thinking, love creating systems, and have a talent for turning concepts into memorable experiences, we want to talk.

Your Mission

What you will be doing

  • Architect and implement a game-changing events strategy that propels our enrollment and strengthens our brand identity
  • Design and document signature event frameworks for our showcase events, including TEDx-style presentations and immersive Shadow Days
  • Orchestrate our vendor ecosystem across all locations, from selection to performance optimization
  • Master the art of multi-tasking by expertly juggling 5-10 events simultaneously
  • Build and nurture a network of capable event executors through comprehensive training and support systems

What You Won’t Be Doing

This Is Not About:

  • Following someone else's rulebook - you're writing the playbook
  • Waiting for instructions - you'll be the one setting the direction
  • Throwing money at problems or depending on external agencies
  • Running conventional, uninspiring school events that blend into the background

Director Of Event Management Key Responsibilities

Your Core Mission: Create and scale an efficient, budget-conscious event operation that enhances Alpha's brand presence and drives enrollment growth across our expanding network of campuses.

Basic Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of 5+ years orchestrating events with diverse budgets ($5K-$50K)
  • Portfolio of 10+ successful professional events with demonstrable outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to create operational systems and documentation from the ground up
  • Expert-level skills in vendor negotiations and cross-functional communication
  • Must be based in Austin or ready to relocate (75%+ on-site work required)
  • Must have U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available)

Nice-to-have Requirements

Bonus Points For:

  • Previous experience in educational, nonprofit, or startup event management
  • Deep knowledge of Austin's event scene and vendor networks
  • Proven track record in budget optimization and procurement processes
  • Experience in scaling event operations across multiple sites
