Position Summary:Purchasing Agent will perform assignments for the preparation of Purchase Orders for capital and non-capital items (Medical and Rehabilitation supplies and equipment, Household supplies, Maintenance supplies and equipment, Appliances and Furniture) for the processing of all General Services Requisitions; Receiving of all Purchase Orders in preparation for Accounts Payable; and the preparation of bids, correspondence, reports and other clerical duties as necessary.
Essential Accountabilities
High School Diploma or Equivalency required. Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred. Three to Five years purchasing experience, minimum 5 years business experience preferred. Experience in non-capital products and purchasing policies and procedures preferred. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and data based systems mandatory. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills a must. Driver’s License Preferred.

Essential Accountabilities
- Review purchase requisitions for correct approvals and accuracy.
- Select proper vendor(s) for commodity or service requested with regard to quality, price reliability and specifications.
- Resolve outstanding Purchase Order issues to facilitate vendor payment.
- Perform various inventory duties, as necessary, and required.
- Work on special projects as required.
- Perform data entry utilizing automated purchasing system.
- Prepare reportsIcorrespondence as necessary, utilizing Microsoft Word/Microsoft Excel.
- Establish and maintain a good vendor relations.
- Review invoices for accuracy.
- Create, maintain and update records and files.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
- Oversee vendor base for core commodities purchased by individual agent and to improve list of qualified vendors (Find new vendors when necessary).
