Position Description:

This position manages broad buying activities to deliver a competitive advantage in cost, service, compliance, and innovation goals on behalf of Ameritas.

Position Location:

  • This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE) and partially from home.


What you do:

  • Facilitate and or/ lead buying activities that may include internal information gathering, analysis assessment for supplier agreement opportunities, and contract negotiation and review.
  • Works with associates and departments when a problem arises with supplier relationship
  • Responds to e-mails and phone calls from vendors and interacts with various associates to keep orders moving smoothly.
  • Makes inquiries and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, and availability.
  • Prepares purchase orders, reviews requisitions for goods and services, and solicits bid proposals as needed.
  • Coordinate and leverage opportunities with broad Ameritas operations.
  • Accurately reports all project milestones to top management.
  • Analyzes different commodity markets to understand market trends and ensures that the organization is using the right supplier.
  • Recognize important areas of legal concerns and work with Legal to mitigate risk. Engage and nurture relationships with internal Legal team.


What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • 1-3 years related experience in a professional or office setting, in procurement, or some combination of similar experience required.
  • Procurement experience desired.
  • College major or minor in supply chain management relevant and applicable.
