Job Summary

Under direction from the Manager of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing the development and execution of targeted marketing initiatives in support of population health and community health goals. This individual should be a passionate marketer who can work across teams, various senior leadership, and community partners to proactively align MARCOM strategy while supporting the mission of Frederick Health. Requiring a brand champion to support the various functions of marketing including goal setting, messaging strategy, project management, concepting and execution of integrated campaigns, partnering with internal and external partners to ensure alignment, cross-team collaboration, and coordination of a 360 approach.

Example Of Essential Functions

  • Assist in the development of campaigns and multichannel marketing strategies based on target market, industry trends, and community health goals. Utilize knowledge in a variety of disciplines such as direct marketing, advertising, promotion, media, and community outreach to create a sound and unified campaign.
  • Track campaign success and provide regular updates to manager and additional stakeholders.
  • Implement effective communication strategies that inform and motivate target audiences, meeting established business goals.
  • Collaborate with team to define goals, strategy, and creative solutions to support marketing efforts and follow department process.
  • Identify opportunities within owned initiatives for social media and digital support.
  • Responsible for overall supervision of projects including development of project briefs/communication plans, kick-offs, briefings, timelines, creative agency management, revisions and necessary follow ups, creative presentations, and the coordination and dissemination of information.
  • Partners with Community Health team to determine marketing’s role on all initiatives as appropriate. Identifies, budget, goals, timing, and sets strategy.
  • Lead weekly status meetings and manage status report with Community Health team to discuss upcoming opportunities, action items, and status to ensure project progression.
  • Provide support in the planning, coordination, and attendance of community health events.
  • Represents Frederick Health Community Health team in the participation of community work groups and committees focused on population health.
  • Determine messaging strategy and organize key message points. Work with internal or external resource to ensure messaging is on point and meets established communication goals.
  • Supports the PR Specialist on media relations relating to community health efforts including the coordination of interviews/articles to aid in the positive perception of Frederick Health.
  • Aid in the review and editing of necessary communication including creative, articles, digital and social content, health system materials, press releases, announcements, senior leadership letters, etc.
  • Coordinates/edits (through CMS) to the intranet and external website content relating to owned initiatives in a variety of formats as well as proactively finds content improvements.
  • Attends various organization events and committee meetings as a member of the Marketing Team to ensure Frederick Health brand is sustained.
  • Champions Frederick Health brand guidelines and consistently reviews material to ensure alignment.
  • Build longstanding relationships with key stakeholders, internal teams, and senior leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent written skills including content development, copywriting, and proofreading.
  • Practical experience developing successful campaigns across a wide range of disciplines including print, broadcast and digital advertising, direct marketing/mail, public relations, social media, and event management.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and as well as CMS platform.
  • Strong working knowledge of social media and digital communications strategies.
  • Understanding of metrics and analytics relating to marketing strategy.
  • Project management and production scheduling skills essential to coordinate the work of a wide range of different internal and external contacts.
  • Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, confident in asking questions and relaying information.

Minimum Education, Training, And Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in Marketing Communications or a related field.

Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups:

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid, if applicable.

Salary Range: $56,576.00 - $85,737.60
