Director of Event Operations, Alpha - $200,000/year USD - #1411198

Trilogy

Date: 11 hours ago
City: Gainesville, FL
Salary: $100 per hour
Contract type: Full time
Own the room. Design the system. Scale the experience.

We're looking for an event leader who doesn't just run logistics. This role is about building and owning a strategic events function that drives brand, community, and enrollment across one of the fastest-growing school networks in the U.S. You won't be handed a playbook. You'll create it, prove it in Austin, and scale it to 25+ markets.

At Alpha, we compress a full school day into two hours through adaptive learning, expert guides, and hands-on challenges. Families don't just choose us for academics — they choose us because we challenge the status quo. Our events need to do the same: bold, relevant, unforgettable.

This role partners closely with marketing, admissions, and operations and reports to senior leadership. If you're strategic, fast-moving, and operationally sharp, this is your seat.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Building and evolving an events strategy that aligns with enrollment and brand goals
  • Creating reusable playbooks for core events like TEDx-style showcases, info sessions, and Shadow Days
  • Managing vendor sourcing, contracting, payments, and performance across all campuses
  • Overseeing 5–10 concurrent events, including on-site problem-solving and cross-functional coordination
  • Training and supporting staff and contractors to execute consistently and at scale

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Managing a system someone else built
  • Waiting for step-by-step guidance
  • Relying on bloated budgets or outsourced agencies
  • Repeating cookie-cutter school events that feel like every other open house

Director Of Event Operations Key Responsibilities

Deliver a scalable, cost-effective event function that drives brand equity and enrollment across Alpha's campuses.

Basic Requirements

  • 5+ years of end-to-end event execution with budgets from $5K to $50K
  • 10+ professionally executed events with measurable results
  • Experience building systems or documentation from scratch
  • Strong vendor negotiation and stakeholder communication skills
  • Based in Austin or willing to relocate; 75%+ on-site presence required
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in education, nonprofit, or startup events
  • Familiarity with the Austin event and vendor landscape
  • Budget management experience, including cost control and procurement
  • Experience scaling event operations across multiple locations
