Newport Children at Mission is seeking an experience Board Certified Pediatrician for our community base clinic in Mission Viejo, California. A pediatrician that can offer a comprehensive care to multicultural children from newborns through adolescence. The position that we offer serves as a critical point of contact for families seeking medical expert medical guidance, diagnostic evaluations, and therapeutic care for their children.
Some of the responsibilities that come with the position are:
Provide preventive care by: Conducting regular medical examinations and well child visits to monitor growth, development and overall health; Administering immunizations as per established guidelines and tracking vaccination schedules; Provide expert counsel on nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being tailored to the needs of the child.
Diagnosis and Medical Treatment: Diagnosing and managing common pediatric conditions, Overseeing the treatment and care of chronic health issues, including asthma, diabetes, and food allergies, recommending and interpreting diagnostic examinations, including laboratory tests and imaging studies, to ensure accurate diagnoses.
Patient and Family Education: Educating parents on child safety protocols, including proper car seat usage and injury prevention strategies, providing guidance on developmental expectations and addressing potential delays or concerns, advising on behavioral and emotional challenges, including managing ADHD, anxiety, and other psychological concerns.
Care Coordination: Facilitating referrals to pediatric specialists for advanced diagnostic or therapeutic services when necessary, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, integrative care for patients, maintaining meticulous and up-to-date medical records to enhance continuity and coordination of care.
It's a crucial part of the position that the new hire shows exceptional interpersonal skills including clear and empathetic communication abilities to engage with young patients and their families effectively and demonstrate patience and sensitivity to build trust within diverse family dynamics. Also, important ability to remain composed and decisive during emergencies or high-pressure situations.
Finally, we are looking for someone with exemplary time-management skills to handle a high volume of patient appointments efficiently and detail-oriented in maintaining accurate and compliant medical documentation.
We are looking for a full-time pediatrician that is certified through the American Board of Pediatrics and is engaged in ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and stay current with advancements in pediatric medicine. California medical license qualifier. A pediatrician that operates well in diverse medical settings, including: a hospital base newborn nursey rounds and circumcisions, and private practice functioning individually or within a group setting. The candidate should be able to handle all kinds of populations including commercially insurance patients and underserved population with government base insurance.
The position includes covering call for office once a week and one weekend every 3 weekends nursery rounds. The pediatrician should be able to handle high patient volume while ensuring the delivery of quality care. Also, balancing the demanding nature of the profession with personal well-being.
The pediatrician should be able to maintain great level of communication with hospital staff, office staff and other physicians, keeping themselves in good standing with hospital requirements, California board and American Board of Pediatrics board requirements.
