Field Service Representative
Fort Hood, TX Full-Time | On-site | Position Contingent Upon Award
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) to provide advanced technical support and field-level maintenance on military equipment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring equipment performance, resolving complex issues, and delivering training and direction to end users. The ideal candidate will combine deep mechanical and diagnostic expertise with strong customer service and problem-solving skills in support of U.S. Army and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) missions.

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) to provide advanced technical support and field-level maintenance on military equipment. This position plays a vital role in ensuring equipment performance, resolving complex issues, and delivering training and direction to end users. The ideal candidate will combine deep mechanical and diagnostic expertise with strong customer service and problem-solving skills in support of U.S. Army and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) missions.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, install, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex vehicle systems and mission equipment.
- Conduct field testing and provide clear technical direction to Soldiers and maintenance teams.
- Resolve mechanical, electrical, and systems-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Provide training on equipment operation, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
- Complete administrative reports, travel documentation, and service logs accurately and on time.
- Manage work efficiently within assigned labor and travel budgets.
- Ensure full compliance with unit policies, Army safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Wear and operate with appropriate gear, including MILS gear and load-bearing equipment, as required.
Must meet qualifications for Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Occupation Code 23430).
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Extensive experience maintaining, repairing, and supporting U.S. military vehicle platforms.
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electronics.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills for clear instruction and reporting.
- Comfortable working independently in high-tempo, field-based environments.
- Certified and qualified to perform FSR duties as described.
- Valid state-issued driver's license; CDL preferred.
- OSHA or equivalent safety training a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of maintenance or supervisory experience on military equipment.
- Field-level support experience on Army combat systems or mission equipment preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Military or vocational technical training in heavy equipment or vehicle maintenance preferred.
- Able to lift/move equipment exceeding 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work outdoors and in varying operational environments.
- Must be able to wear MILS and load-bearing equipment as needed for field work.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Secret clearance required due to access to controlled systems and deployment support roles.
- Experience supporting Army fielding missions, New Equipment Training (NET), or reset programs.
- Familiarity with TACOM FSR protocols, GCSS-Army, or FMS logistics support.
- Background supporting Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, or similar combat vehicle systems.
