The competent Nurse independently practices in the same or similar clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing long-term goals and contingencies.

  • Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations and makes appropriate assignments and delegation.
  • Meets competency expectations aligned with leadership standards, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Addresses patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs, administering medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring effects, and documenting care.
  • Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
  • Education requirement includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of related nursing experience preferred.
  • BLS certification and RN license in the state of employment or compact required.
  • Work schedule is TBD; position is per diem and as needed.
