THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE
The Digital Workplace Manager role is responsible for maintaining, evolving, and enhancing technology capabilities for Ulta Beauty’s Store Operations portfolio. This individual serves as the subject matter expert (SME) and primary business liaison with IT collaborating cross-functionally to document business requirements, manage defects, perform user acceptance testing, and coordinate deployment schedules. Additionally, this individual will lead change management, process documentation, and promote user adoption of technology solutions with field teams. Primary areas of responsibility include point of sale (POS), digital workplace application(s), mobile inventory application, services booking, network infrastructure, and associate enablement applications. This individual will utilize intellectual curiosity and thought leadership to identify trends and patterns in data while partnering with cross functional business partners to deliver quantifiable results.

The Store Systems Business Manager is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently through the following (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):
Performance
- Adapt and apply various delivery methodologies including Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, and Lean
- Collaborate with project team to build business cases, create user stories, and document process flows, including cost/benefit analysis, risk assessments, project scope and development of project plan and supporting artifacts
- Produce and prioritize requirement specifications and outline solution design documents throughout the project life cycle, incorporating change requests and finalization of documentation
- Serve as primary liaison between key business leaders/stakeholders and technology to bridge requirements and solutions, review and approve change requests, as well as assess/monitor timelines, SLAs, user adoption, and customer satisfaction
- Participate in development of test plan, testing, implementation, and training activities
- Create training, documentation, and communication used to educate field leaders and executives on technology changes such as enhancements, features, and bug resolution
- Manage execution of large complex projects, project schedules, reporting variances along with planned corrective action
- Lead business project teams in implementing and applying standard processes for change, risk, and issues management, as well as quality assurance and product deployments
- Perform ad hoc data analysis and synthesize results to identify trends and thematic issues
- Facilitate training and testing for implementation of new systems and processes
- Primary point of contact for ticket escalation, resolution, and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science, or related field of study, or 6+ years of equivalent work experience
- Professional certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (SCM), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework, or Project Management Professional (PMP) are desirable assets
- Success in designing, deploying, and modernizing systems, as well as implementing digital technology solutions across all channels that touch the associate and guest experience
- Deep understanding of the business, with an insight into strategy, levers, and the impact as well as a strong technical acumen
- Strong knowledge of project management lifecycle and industry-leading practices/methodologies
- Demonstrated product development lifecycle and execution experience, coupled with a proven track record of leading projects to obtain tangible business results within the retail and/or salon services industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of articulating intricate issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, Word, and Visio
- Demonstrated proficiency with Atlassian software tools, including Jira and Confluence
- Expertise in navigating requirements based on waterfall and agile project delivery methodologies
- Aptitude to influence colleagues, peers, and cross-functional teams throughout the organization
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform and remain organized in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment
- Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to travel, including overnight stays, as required (5%)
