Position Summary

Denver Botanic Gardens is currently seeking a Full Time Salesforce Administrator in our Innovation & Technology Department! Read below to see if the requirements might be a good fit for you:

The Salesforce Administrator is a detail-oriented and technically skilled Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Administrator is responsible for leading the ongoing development, support, and optimization of the Denver Botanic Gardens Salesforce system. The Salesforce Administrator will manage daily operations within Salesforce, including system configuration, maintenance, and user support. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with departments across the Gardens to design and implement streamlined business processes and solutions. This position also serves as a technical project manager, business analyst, and integration specialist, ensuring that the Salesforce effectively meets the evolving needs of the organization.

Requirements

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary Salesforce system administrator.
  • Integrates third-party applications with Salesforce.
  • Ensures integrity of data via proactive data validation, deduplication, and monitoring practices.
  • Develops and maintains custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, workflows.
  • Responsible for uploads, exports and updates of data.
  • Creates and maintains detailed documentation and provides comprehensive communication on Salesforce best practices and updates across the organization.
  • Manages and configures API connections, supporting direct sync with platforms like Outlook, Mailchimp, and various fundraising tools.
  • Enforces appropriate data security, compliance with data privacy regulations, data backup and recovery.
  • Oversee all aspects of user and license management (user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, record sharing settings, etc.)
  • Works closely with Denver Botanic Gardens teams to identify, develop, deploy and evaluate Salesforce processes.
  • Keeps up to date with Salesforce product releases and communicates with end users about key changes.
  • Provides responsive support to maintain user satisfaction.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to advise on audience segmentation.
  • Analyzes and understands organizational business processes and requirements to recommend appropriate database solutions used and maintained by Denver Botanic Gardens. Implement solutions based on department needs.
  • Develop reports, dashboards and processes to support business operations.
  • Evaluates and tests new products and software applications under development.
  • Trains new users in Salesforce.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to Salesforce.
  • Maintains accurate system records and performs regular quality control.
  • Provides updates to management regarding status of assigned projects.
  • Ensures compliance of all Denver Botanic Gardens operating policies and procedures.
  • Regular attendance at the worksite may be required. As with all positions at Denver Botanic Gardens, the incumbent must be in good performance standing to be eligible for remote work. Remote work is at the discretion of management at all times.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain accurate database records.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to people of varying technical skill levels.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support of Salesforce.
  • must be flexible, willing and able to adapt as policies and procedures change.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible, approach projects proactively, and provide intentional feedback to the team.
  • Must have proven excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and able to deal well with stressful situations.
  • Ability to be flexible and willing to modify plans, when necessary, throughout the day.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Must be a positive representative of the Gardens both internally and externally at all times.
  • Must work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and the public.
  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education

  • High school diploma / GED and/or combination of education and equivalent experience is required.
  • 2+ years of Salesforce experience required, ideally within a nonprofit or philanthropic setting.
  • Salesforce Administrator and/or Nonprofit Cloud certification is preferred.
  • Preferred, but not required: Project management experience (change management, governance, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Salesforce Data Model and Object Query Language.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively troubleshooting technical issues and efficiently implementing service requests
  • Experience using tools like Report Builder, Dashboard Manager, Tableau, and Salesforce’s native analytics capabilities.
