Summary
The role of a Campus Safety Team Member is to monitor, direct and supervise students at various times during the school day in order to ensure their health and safety while at school. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with peers and students, have a deep commitment to student safety, hold students and self to high expectations, and uphold Navigator school culture at all times.

The role of a Campus Safety Team Member is to monitor, direct and supervise students at various times during the school day in order to ensure their health and safety while at school. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with peers and students, have a deep commitment to student safety, hold students and self to high expectations, and uphold Navigator school culture at all times.
Responsibilities
- ResponsibilitiesTake cones and signs out/in
- Clean the lunch bins and put them away
- Help clean up tables in the cafeteria
- Bring out/in equipment for your zone
- Cover dismissal zone, and maintain responsibility of assigned zone area(s)
- Monitor students activities to ensure safety at all times, and enforce school policies and playground rules
- Give first-aid to students in need
- Help students work through problems that arise on the playground
- Effectively communicate with students and staff
- Maintain a firm but patient and courteous attitude towards students
- Keep areas clean and safe
- Be aware of any unsafe or hazardous items, structures, and take appropriate action to correct hazards or relay them to appropriate staff
- Learn and follow emergency procedures
- Maintain visibility at all times to students
- Implement the constant use of radar/scanning
- Constant circulation of your zone(s) is required at all times ensuring you are in motion tracking student behaviors
- Ensure students are eating at the bench area or sitting on blacktop and not running around with food
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with parents
- Any issues involving students or parents must be communicated to the SOM
- Meet weekly with the SOM for coaching
- Lunch DutyEnsure there is no sharing of food (food allergy reasons)
- Ensure students are sitting at all times unless they have asked for permission to use the bathroom
- Ensure students are keeping their lunch items together with little to no mess
- Encourage students to eat, as many students who don’t eat often visit the office with stomach aches due to being hungry because they didn’t eat their lunch
- Keeping track of time, giving a 5 minute warning, then 2 minutes before transitioning
- Ensure students have trash in hand when standing up and that they throw trash in trash can on their way to recess
- Professional ExpectationsParticipate fully in assigned staff meetings, professional developments, and planning sessions
- Participate in weekly coaching meetings (Observations, live coaching, collaborate with coaches on action steps, implement action steps, etc.)
- Support the day to day happenings of the school site
- Uphold Navigator’s mission, Values, and Culture at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, VP’s, SGI Supervisory Coach, and Office Staff
- Commitment to student success, learning and safety
- Reliance on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job duties
- Desire to improve professionally, open to receiving coaching and feedback
- Flexible to changing work environment; always present with a positive attitude
- Possesses effective communication skills
