As the Video and Graphics Editor, you will collaborate with a team of creative professionals to bring compelling stories to life. You will play a key role in developing projects, refining workflows, and mentoring others, ensuring our team continues to evolve. Success in this role requires advanced skills in non-linear video editing, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced sports environment, and a strong collaborative spirit. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of editing workflows, software, and production processes to craft polished, engaging content.

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate within various edit areas to support the creative process while delivering high-quality content for all Thunder media platforms, including TV, radio, in-arena displays, the website, and social media
  • Edit at an advanced creative level, ensuring engaging and polished storytelling
  • Demonstrate strong editing skills, clear communication, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure, tight deadlines, and live conditions with minimal supervision
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced editors, sharing best practices for workflows and software
  • Work closely with other departments and corporate partners to develop cross-functional video content that highlights community impact stories
  • Stay current with industry technology trends and contribute to refining workflows for accuracy, efficiency, and future production needs
  • Design static graphics and animations to enhance digital content across various platforms
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work or military experience preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in editing
  • A resume reel showcasing previous work is required
  • Advanced understanding of non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Avid, and 3D Motion
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Expertise in editing with a solid understanding of photography styles and techniques
  • Understanding of video encoding, codecs, and formatting projects for various platforms
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NBA Basketball
  • Skilled in media transfer workflows, including, ingesting, publishing, and exporting content
  • Excellent oral communication skills and proven ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting time-sensitive deadlines

Additional details:

Work schedule will primarily include Monday-Friday business hours and include evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. A valid driver’s license, insurance, and transportation are required as some local or regional travel will be necessary. The primary work location will be the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City at the Paycom Center. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work events in varying weather conditions, and adapt to high noise levels during games. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, reporting to the Director, Broadcast Production.
