Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Legal Assistant on behalf of a dynamic and mission-driven boutique law practice with a strong track record in litigation. This is a temporary, remote position located in Pasadena, CA.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Legal Assistant. This role is essential to the smooth daily operations of the firm and will work closely with partners, an intake specialist, and an administrative assistant. The ideal candidate is confident managing deadlines, organizing case documents, and supporting attorneys in all stages of the litigation process. Experience in California litigation, especially in employment law, is highly valued.

- Manage legal calendars and deadlines, including court and discovery dates
- Coordinate and maintain digital and physical case files and document systems
- Draft, and file legal documents in compliance with California court requirements
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Manage a caseload of 60-80 matters across both partners
- Support case preparation by organizing documents, timelines, and related filings
- Collaborate with the administrative assistant to delegate or complete clerical tasks as needed
- Must have the ability to manage a relatively large caseload (60-80 matters across both partners).
- Experience in a legal administrative or assistant role supporting litigation
- E-filing (state) and any experience with federal is a plus
- Proficiency with California court filing procedures and calendaring practices
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to deadlines and accuracy
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication
- Preferred: familiarity with employment law and litigation in California
