The Logistics supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipment and delivery of goods and supervise personnel.
What You Will Be Doing
- Oversee the loading and unloading of various products made and used at the Hammond plant and responsible for maintenance activities.
- Responsible for the quality of the product being shipped (Product Stewardship).
- Responsible for writing procedures, completing work permits, conducting safety meetings, etc. List activities that deal with RCRA or environmental management such as training, manifesting, labeling, used oil management, disposal, inspection etc.
- Responsible for complying with and training of the various HS&E polices e.g. Stop Work Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy, Regular Safety Meetings, Supervisor Performance Standards and Site Safety Manual etc.
- Train all loaders to write safety and repair work orders.
- Responsible to see that all personnel are currently trained and in compliance with the DOT, OSHA, RCRA and EPA regulations required to do their job responsibilities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Min of 5 plus years logistics/supply chain experience
- Min of 2 plus years supervisory experience
- Basic math skills
- Computer knowledge including SAP and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must have working knowledge of all loading operations
- Must be able to troubleshoot concerns and problems of the loading operations
