We are on the lookout for a Senior Chassis Validation Engineer to join our Product Architecture and Validation team. You will work closely with our Battery Electric and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle systems teams to Validate our Battery Electric and Fuel Cell powered Class 8 Havey Truck products. 

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the Validation DVP for chassis systems.
• Plan Vehicle level Testing
  • Public Road Trips
  • Proving Ground, such as VDA and winter testing surfaces
• Support procurement needs of fueling sources (Electric and Hydrogen)
• Lead execution of validation of the following chassis systems:
  • Steering
  • Brakes
  • Handling
  • Ride
  • AEBS
• Benchmark Nikola system performance against the competition.
• Subjectively evaluate system readiness for production
• Execute Regulatory Compliance testing (FMVSS121 and 136)

• BSME or equivalent
• Years of experience 5+ Chassis Testing and Development
• Electric Vehicle/Fuel Cell Vehicle Testing Experience a plus 
• HV system experience a plus
• Familiarity with DFMEA process
• Familiarity with CANalyzer or similar CAN bus analysis tools
• Solid understanding of system/component design/development processes
• CDL Class A or B plus, will train
• Proving Ground Driver Skill Rating or Tier (SAE J3300 or equivalent)
• Knowledge of ADAS Systems
• Proficient in requirement management tools such as JAMA or Doors  
• Must be able to travel abroad or local test sites in North America on a short notice
