Who is Acton ADU?

We’re a rapidly growing team in the Silicon Valley construction space located in Campbell, California. We have a 30-year legacy in construction, and our sole focus is on making a positive impact on the California housing crisis.

At Acton, we design, navigate, and build accessory dwelling units (ADUs), also known as backyard homes. These ADUs help create accessible housing options for thousands of homeowners across the Bay Area, while positively impacting people’s lives.

THE ROLE

The Superintendent will oversee all work performed on 4-5 job sites and will work with the Project Manager to ensure that all needed resources are in place to complete a successful and profitable project.

Minimum Skill Requirements:

• Extensive construction experience in journeyman-level or leadership roles.
• Mastery of plan reading.
• Thorough knowledge of residential building procedures and familiarity with CA Building Codes.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Solid math skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with in-house labor, office staff, subcontractors, and inspectors.
• Basic computer skills: web navigation, email communication, construction mgmt software.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Understand plans, budget, and people & materials involved in projects.
• Supervise onsite construction activities to bring projects in on time and on budget at an appropriate level of quality.
• Meet with subcontractors and internal labor to ensure understanding of scope and expectations.
• Perform QC and sign off on internal team’s & vendors’ work.
• Teach, instruct, and assist internal labor to perform tasks as needed to ensure timely, quality work.
• Order lumber and “off-the-shelf” materials and supplies.
• Enforce a clean and safe work environment, job site conditions, and team behavior.
• Complete various daily administrative tasks such as times cards, checklists, and daily logs.
• Participate in periodic team meetings as needed.
