Role Overview

As a Data Scientist at McAfee, you will work closely with our data engineering and analytics teams and our customer success team to profile, transform, interpret data, and build a comprehensive understanding of our support contact center. Your primary focus will be to dive deep into datasets, understand how they relate to business goals, and shape data to drive insights and business metrics. You will use languages like SQL, Python to extract, manipulate, and analyze data, and contribute to developing robust contact center metrics.

In this role, you would focus on hands-on data profiling, transformations, and analysis. We are looking for a strong sense of curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a knack for working through data challenges.

This is a remote position; however, you must be onsite at our Frisco, TX, office occasionally. We will only consider candidates who are a commutable distance to Frisco or Dallas and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About The Role

  • Work with large and diverse datasets to profile, clean, and transform data for analysis.
  • Build and refine data pipelines, ensuring data is structured and ready for analytical use.
  • Use SQL and Python for querying, transforming, and analyzing data from various sources.
  • Perform data profiling to understand data characteristics and uncover patterns and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business metrics and ensure data aligns with key business objectives.
  • Support the development of contact center metrics by integrating data from various sources and creating relevant attributes.
  • Continuously explore and ask questions about the data to uncover new insights and drive better decision-making.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data transformation processes and methodologies.

About You

  • Proficiency in SQL for complex data queries and data transformations.
  • Strong experience with Python for data manipulation, analysis, and pipeline development.
  • Hands-on experience working with large datasets, data profiling, and transforming raw data into structured formats.
  • Familiarity with Databricks or other big data platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a curiosity-driven approach to exploring data.
  • Ability to think critically and connect data insights to business metrics.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete data, and can proactively seek solutions.
  • Knowledge of data science concepts (e.g., basic statistics, predictive modeling, recommendation systems).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Understanding of contact and call center operations is a plus.
