Job Summary
The Mental Health Professional reports to the Program Director and provides mental health clinical services to clients.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Communicate an understanding of Turning Point's Principles of Community, Mission, Vision and Values as it relates to staff and beneficiaries.
- Provide mental health services to children, youth and families including but not limited to assessment, crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, plan development, group therapy and case management.
- Will provide mental health services to children, youth and care providers in settings such as client residence, school, community locations, tele-health and clinic sites.
- In accordance to program, county and state requirements, will document service provision of full-scope Medi-Cal and Short-Doyle beneficiaries under the age of 21 with comprehensive, high-quality array of preventive (such as screening), diagnostic, and treatment services under Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment Services (EPSDT).
- Will complete clinical assessments for children and youth, identifying symptoms, resulting impairments, develop treatment objectives and interventions.
- Maintain a caseload of clients, monitor and coordinate mental health services ensuring individualized and family-focused mental health treatment.
- As part of a treatment team, coordinate service delivery with Mental Health Rehabilitation Providers, Licensed Vocational Nurses/Licensed Psychiatric Technicians, Psychiatrists and Administrative staff.
- Will collaborate with Community Partners to help coordinate care, identify resources to help reduce barriers for clients and families receiving mental health treatment
- Will complete progress notes documenting service provision in electronic medical record (EMR) in timely manner and in accordance to standards designated by Program Director.
- Will comply with program standards for documentation, evidence-based practices, treatment planning, discharge planning and other indicators of quality assurance.
- Employees shall follow the reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.
- Regular attendance to team/staff meetings.
- Complete required hours of training.
- Will think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
- Will drive on Agency business as needed.
- Physical presence at the program is required.
- Licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR,
- Unlicensed: A Master’s degree in behavioral science with current registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or an Associate Social Worker (ASW).
- Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
- Knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Ability to operate communication/meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other platforms.
- Basic computer skills in, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
- Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
- Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients.
- Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis.
- Other translation tasks as required.
- Pay Range:
- Monolingual/Masters: Class 167 ($68,700.41 - $83,584.55 annually)
- Bilingual/Masters: Class 172 ($69,427.71 - $87,848.20 annually)
- Monolingual/Licensed: Class 177 ($70,162.70 - $92,329.34 annually)
- Bilingual/Licensed: Class 182 ($73,741.71 - $97,039.07 annually)

- Qualified non-profit for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program
- Regular work schedule (Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm)
