We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to join our team, who is passionate about Procurement across multiple commodities. This role requires strong negotiation skills, the ability to manage supplier relationships, and a focus on ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to quality and budget requirements.

As a Buyer at DigitalOcean, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to revolutionizing cloud computing.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies to meet the origination’s supply needs while optimizing costs across multiple commodities
  • Source and identify suppliers for goods, materials, components or services evaluating price, quality and delivery targets
  • Support Senior Buyer on large Capital Projects and Initiatives ensuring business objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain) to align procurement needs with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and issuance of purchase orders.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports related to procurement activities and cost savings
  • Coordinate several projects with multiple business units to ensure accurate and timely deadlines simultaneously

What You’ll Add To DigitalOcean

  • 3+ years of proven experience in a Buyer Role
  • Experience with procuring various commodities with a heavy emphasis on technology related purchases.
  • Ability to handle multiple high priority projects simultaneously
  • Experience with ERP and other purchasing systems
  • Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers
  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown

  • We reward our employees. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
