Job Duties
Assist with engineering activities, helping to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations. Support team leaders in order to manage and direct the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site.
Assist the superintendent and project manager in the implementation of DPR policies and the execution of the project. Apply knowledge of established VDC Services and technologies during construction (e.g., performs constructability analysis, resolves issues, etc.). Under the guidance of senior staff, create visuals (e.g., models, field deliverables, coordination issues, sequence plans, etc.) to communicate information with the construction project team and stakeholders. Gather BIM specific data to help team ensure metrics are being created and tracked on construction projects (e.g., KPI’s, impact, ROI of established VDC initiatives). Assist on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of VDC applications, processes, and deliverables. Promote Model use in the Field by ensuring effective use of model-derived deliverables and confirm accurate representation of construction work installed relative to the Model. Ensure that the project deliverables are available for field use to support construction, communicating to the field and providing support as needed. Maintain correct sequence/ flow of work and the related constraints using understanding of interaction with site logistics.
Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites within commuting distance of DPR’s Redwood City, California office.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a civil engineer-related occupation. Special Requirements
Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:
Develop construction documents containing fabrication level of detail model content for the architects and subcontractors to help install respective scope on site using Autodesk Revit & ArchiCAD. Plan & setup project on BIM 360 cloud platform to help author Revit-based workflows that provide collaborative environment enabling effective Clash coordination and Constructability reviews Prepare & document VDC Best-practice workflows and guides for training and onboarding. As-built modeling in Revit environment using point cloud data captured through terrestrial laser scanners and aligning the model to state-plane coordinates so that scope of work represents real-world reference accurately with the tolerance of ¼” tier to a building control. Oversee deliverables on a construction project, organizing and running Coordination calls, and collaborating with construction project team. Run multi-trade Clash coordination using models generated by authoring software like Revit, within Navisworks software to help highlight/prioritize design and constructability issues for the broader project team. Translate conceptual/schematic design from architects to 100% design ready documents that can be issued for permit to the city for approval or from city for construction using software like Revit and AutoCAD; generate Request for Information (RFIs) to architects to further clarify design intent in this process. Develop 4D Schedule by linking model elements to construction schedule on Navisworks to help envision construction sequence and identify production improvements for the client.
