Job Focus & Responsibilities

We are looking for a creative and passionate Social Media manager for Cheezburger to join our NY office at Greenpoint, Brooklyn. You will be responsible for executing social media strategies that increase our brand’s awareness, following, engagement, and traffic across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and TikTok. Key job responsibilities:

• Writing and pitching original copy, jokes, and trend-driven content
• Browsing media resources to discover and source content that aligns with our social strategies
• Engaging with our online community to foster strong relationships and cultivate a loyal follower base
• Planning, coordinating, and participating in TikTok shoot days
• Collaborating with the social media team in brainstorming sessions to develop original content and trends
• Identifying and reaching out to new creators and potential collaborators
• Video editing
  
  

Qualifications

• A natural idea-generator who keeps things both creative and lively
• Familiarity with U.S. meme and internet culture
• Strong writing skills
• Proficiency in basic video editing and graphic design tools such as Canva, CapCut, or similar software. Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or Photoshop is a plus.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to emerging platforms
• Well-organized, self-motivated and driven
• Excellent communication and interpersonal collaboration skills

• A B.A. in Journalism, Marketing, film, or a related field
• Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms
• A background in digital storytelling, content strategy, or audience engagement
  
  

This role requires working from our office in Brooklyn.

Salary for this position ranges from $50k-$60k. Factors that may determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
