Position description

The Purchasing Specialist position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties and functions in support of the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Create purchase orders using the State Of Florida’s eProcurement system MyFlorida MarketPlace; effectively purchase and monitor supply orders, and follow up with external and internal customers. Monitor office supply inventory. Prepare and review Orange County/State of Florida travel documents. Provide direct support to internal users completing travel in the Statewide Travel Management System (STMS). Verify purchasing transactions. Make necessary purchases on purchasing card. Comply with Orange County Government/State of Florida procurement and financial policies and procedures. Prepare monthly financial reports.

The ideal candidate will enjoy providing customer service and have excellent communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, have some knowledge of MyFlorida MarketPlace and Advantage Financial Management Software. Also, the candidate will have the ability to function either independently or within a team depending upon the work assignment/project.

A Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, finance, purchasing or a closely related field is preferred. Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended education level on a year-for-year basis.
