The Manager of Sports Events is responsible for developing national properties, organizing large-scale events, and spearheading significant event initiatives in the region. This role is focused on distinguishing our brand and enhancing its image. As a project leader, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to maximize the impact of major regional sports event initiatives. Your responsibilities encompass all aspects of event execution, including creative development, concept creation, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, you will work closely with local field teams, giving them direction and support to leverage Sports properties and Red Bull partners effectively in host markets. This involves setting objectives, identifying key scenes and relationships, and guiding relevant initiatives related to national and regional events within the region.

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

LEAD EXECUTION OF ALL REGIONAL SPORTS EVENTS

Lead the execution and production of high-quality events for Red Bull Sports across all regions. Take fiscal responsibility for managing the budgets of assigned projects. Identify and propose locations for event properties based on local market needs and expected return on investment. Develop the project plan, oversee its execution, and lead the project team. Supervise all aspects of pre-planning and event execution. Act as the liaison between Red Bull and local authorities to secure all necessary authorizations. Ensure effective dissemination of information among team members and partners. Manage the event budget. Collaborate with the Legal team to construct contracts, solicit bids, assess proposals, and negotiate favorable terms with partners and suppliers. Source and manage event production companies and oversee all logistics related to the events. Work with media agencies to develop and execute Above-the-Line strategies. Manage full-time Event Vehicle Operators and develop a strategy and calendar for regional Event Vehicle activations. Partner with the region’s Communications team to maximize media outcomes for significant projects. Collaborate with Regional Leadership and teams in Santa Monica to inform and shape the region's Sports Marketing strategy. Coordinate with Risk Management and Legal departments to facilitate agreements with external parties in accordance with Red Bull standards.

SUPPORT PRODUCT ACTIVATION

Collaborate with the local Brand Marketing, Field Marketing, Communications, and Sales Teams to devise activation plans that establish local relevance. You will oversee the distribution of event materials for the region. Partner with Regional Marketing Leadership and third-party entities to create innovative branding solutions for events.

SHARE BEST PRACTICES

Engage in meetings such as Brand Marketing creative workshops and training sessions to collect and disseminate insights and ensure strategic alignment. Identify and communicate best practices within the regional Marketing team and Sports department. Enhance ROI by collaborating with the regional Communications team to guarantee effective external communication, which involves creating and managing the distribution of local initiative content across appropriate channels (viral, print, video).

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in event planning, project coordination, team management, and budget overseeing
  • Skilled in event and project management
  • Ability to devise creative and unique solutions for project execution
  • Familiarity with various sports and their respective communities both at the regional and national levels
  • Experienced in managing budgets exceeding $400,000
  • Proficient in contract negotiation – constructing and reviewing beneficial agreements with suppliers and external partners
  • Knowledgeable about using different communication channels for distribution
  • Experienced in TV and video production programming
  • Proven record of collaborating effectively with local governments, showing an understanding of approval systems and regulations
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Must have valid US driver's license
  • Must be fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $85,360 - $128,040 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
