Responsibilities

As a Security Analyst with EmpowerMe you will be responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring security protocols for the protection of the organization’s computer networks and information.

Your essential duties include the following:

  • Collaborates with IT leadership and team members to discuss computer data access needs, to identify security threats and violations, and to identify and recommend needed programming or process changes.
  • Uses appropriate security tools and applications to conceal and protect transfers of confidential digital information.
  • Utilizes the ticketing system to respond to incidents and requests that come into the queue, meticulously documenting any systematic changes.
  • Develops and implements plans to safeguard digital data from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure; adheres to emergency data processing needs.
  • Develops and implements plans to patch OS and software packages that are part of the application baseline to keep the environment free from vulnerabilities.
  • Reviews violations of security procedures; provides training to ensure violations do not recur.
  • Monitors and restricts access to sensitive, confidential, or other high-security data.
  • Modifies security files and applications as able and necessary to provide specialized access, allow new software to be installed or integrated, or correct errors.
  • Performs risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Safeguards system security and improves overall server and network efficiency by training users and promoting security awareness.
  • Determines when to update virus protection systems by monitoring current reports of computer viruses; facilitates or performs needed updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree plus 2 years of professional office experience, or High School diploma or GED plus 3 years professional office experience (professional office experience in healthcare setting is preferred). 
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remain calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, to work well with many interruptions and have skill in multi-tasking.     
  • Quickly adapts to change and takes a proactive approach to problem solving. 
  • Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information. 

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g. Explorer, Chrome, Fire Fox)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, Word and Publisher applications
  • Proficiency with EDR solutions (SentinelOne, Arctic Wolf, Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, etc.)
  • Cursory knowledge of bast practices for patch management
  • Cursory knowledge of application deployment using MDM or MAM with Intune or Endpoint Central.
  • Experience in working with various EMR and medical billing systems would be a plus.

An individual should possess the physical ability to lift/move 20lbs, maintain a stationary position, move freely, operate equipment, ascend/descend freely, position self to reach equipment above or below average standing height, and communicate with employees throughout the organization. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; stoop; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
