Head of Design - #1407550
AssetMark
Date: 6 days ago
City: Concord, CA
Contract type: Full time

Job Description:
AssetMark is a leading wealth management platform dedicated to empowering independent financial advisors. Our mission is to enable financial advisors to make a profound difference in the lives of their clients. Over 10,000 advisors rely on AssetMark for our investment offerings, innovative technology, and expert services. We are an integrated team of technologists, investment professionals, and operations experts working to keep our clients at the forefront of wealth management.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Head of Design to lead the evolution of our product design function as AssetMark enters a pivotal phase of growth and platform transformation. This executive role will report directly to the SVP, Head of Product, and work in close partnership with Product and Engineering to deliver seamless, elegant, and intuitive experiences across a complex ecosystem of advisor and client-facing tools.
We operate in the wealth management space—an industry groaning under deeply complex workflows and legacy user experiences. The upside for great design is enormous. We are looking for a design leader excited to help turn complexity into clarity and deliver products that can be sophisticated while also human.
You will inherit an existing design team and be responsible for elevating and growing it into a high-performing function known for craft, clarity, and user obsession. This includes leading the creation and stewardship of a design system, building scalable design operations, and embedding user research and testing into the product development lifecycle.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Concord, CA or Charlotte, NC.
Key Responsibilities
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Who We Are & What We Offer:
AssetMark’s mission is centered around helping financial advisors make a difference in the lives of their clients. To help them do that, we aim to provide advisors with holistic support. We offer compelling technology that facilitates a better client experience, consulting services that ensure advisors’ businesses are running at their best and a comprehensive suite of investment solutions. AssetMark’s platform empowers advisors to provide the highest level of service possible to their clients.
AssetMark’s culture is driven by our mission and connected by our values; Heart, Integrity, Excellence and Respect. You will join a team that lives these values every day by doing the best and what is right in all we do and encouraging different ideas for continual success and innovation. Additionally, we offer a wide range of benefits to meet the needs of our team members and their families.
