Job Description

Role

Work with commercial loan officers to originate and prepare loan transactions for underwriting and closing. Provide excellent customer service in response to requests for information and resolving issues on new and existing customer accounts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly and appropriately to calls and emails from customers. Assist customers with payments, advances, account research, and other commercial account related needs.
  • Use commercial loan software to process loan requests, including entering accurate details for the transaction into the software, ordering supporting documents for the credit, flood, title, taxes, and appraisal. Updating workflows to accurately reflect the transaction’s current status.
  • Assist commercial loan officers with gathering customer information required to make a loan, including demographic information that is regulatory-required as well as necessary documents and supporting files from customers.
  • Review due diligence documents, such as CIP and Beneficial Ownership documents, to assure accurate and complete documentation of loan files. Adhere to policies and procedures for accurate document placement and retention.
  • Evaluate documentation provided by customers and work with credit analysts to perform research necessary to determine the loan applicant’s eligibility.
  • Provide quality assurance of loan closing documents.
  • Analyze data and information by identifying the underlying fundamentals and objectives using logic and reasoning.
  • Close loan transactions or coordinate closings with title company including reviewing settlement statements, documenting customer identities, ensuring documents are signed, and providing funds to customers.
  • Accurately post monetary transactions to fund loan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Actively participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Experience

Knowledge & Skills

Previous Banking And Or Credit Analysis Experience Preferred.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

High school diploma or equivalent

Skills

  • Must possess strong attention to detail; be able to work quickly and efficiently on multiple tasks; possess working knowledge of Word, Excel, and general computer skills; possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently within a team. Must be able to organize, plan, and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, scanner, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.

Regular in-office attendance is required

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to complete complex mathematical calculations and spell accurately. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
