The Research Liaison will play a key role in supporting public health initiatives through research, communication, and collaboration. This position will be responsible for tracking and synthesizing emerging public health trends to help inform programming and strategic direction. This is a part-time paid position; hours are flexible but not to exceed 28 hours.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Research and monitor emerging public health trends to inform internal strategy and community health priorities. Lead the development of the quarterly Bronx Health Matters newsletter, including:
- Creating and maintaining a publication schedule.
- Developing topics and coordinating content.
- Managing outreach to contributors and collaborating departments.
- Create public-facing content to increase awareness and understanding of our health initiatives and emerging public health issues.
- Facilitate and coordinate the activities of key health committees.
- Contribute to projects, events, and programs focused on key health priorities such as maternal health, HIV, opioid overdose prevention, and mental health.
- Assist with other departmental initiatives addressing domestic violence, diabetes and food insecurity, COVID-19, influenza, and other emergent health challenges.
- Attend webinars, trainings, and meetings hosted by partner organizations as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. However, the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required.
- Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.
