We are in search of a hard-working and talented weekend sports anchor/reporter for a strong NBC/CBS sports department. Our station produces the most live local programming each week in the Fargo market. Beyond our market leading position in broadcast our digital and social media presence dwarfs our closest competition. Valley News Live is exited to offer the right candidate the opportunity to grow and learn in a small market, passionate about local sports coverage. You will anchor weekend sportscasts and cover a combination of sports and news your other days. You will see the storytelling process through, from start to finish.
Essential Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
Connect with, and create a relationship with local sports team and their coaches to offer consistent and comprehensive coverage
Scheduling shoots and interviews, shooting video, writing scripts, editing, and going live as needed
Produce and anchor sportscasts on weekends, and as needed during the week
Working with the sports department to ensure fair coverage, with an understanding that Husker sports and local sports are both very important to our viewers
Be a passionate multi-platform storyteller, with regular posts to social media and the station's website and news apps - first responsibility is sports, but also covering occasional news stories and breaking news
