• Incumbent must meet the qualification requirements for Tier I clinical providers and obtain privileges or credentialing in accordance with SECNAVINST 1754.8.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining Family Advocacy Program (FAP) clinical case records, treatment plans, and required statistical data in accordance with rules and regulations., 2) Providing short-term clinical counseling for mental health patients on domestic violence, child abuse or neglect, marriage and family discord, or crisis intervention and therapy, 3) Conducting risk assessments and coordinate safety planning in accordance with Family Support Program (FFSP) policy. This position is a TIER ONE clinical care provider. Applicants must possess at least a masters or doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.8:

• Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP) or an equivalent degree, OR
• Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) or an equivalent degree, OR
• Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR
• Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school and a one-year APA accredited clinical internship.

For the GS-0101 Professional Social Science Series: Applicants must possess a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled; OR a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field; OR four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

For the GS-0180 Professional Psychology Series: Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

For the GS-0185 Professional Social Work Series: Applicants must possess a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; OR a master's degree in social work with practicum.

The following education may be substituted for specialized experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
