For the GS-0101 Professional Social Science Series: Applicants must possess a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled; OR a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field; OR four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
For the GS-0180 Professional Psychology Series: Applicants must possess a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
For the GS-0185 Professional Social Work Series: Applicants must possess a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; OR a master's degree in social work with practicum.
The following education may be substituted for specialized experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
