Laboratory Supervisor

Full-Time Position

Job Summary

  • Organizes and directs the daily activities of the laboratory
  • Responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting lab results
  • A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in area of specialty
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • ASCP Certified as generalist
  • 3+ years of experience with minimum 1year of experience as a general supervisor
  • Proficient in computer system, Microsoft Office

Odessa Regional Medical Center was founded in 1975 as Odessa Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.
