Job Description

The Maintenance Trades Helper assists one or more workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill at CMI’s customer site in Gulf Port, MS.

**Key Job Functions**

  • Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
  • Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
  • Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
  • Paints structures and equipment.
  • Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
  • Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
  • Hangs doors and installing door locks.
  • Replaces broken window panes.
  • Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, Trade certificate as applicable
  • Must pass background check and be able to pass security clearance if necessary
  • **Must have the ability to be on call (1) weekend per calendar month and live in such proximity that in the event of an emergency call, they can be onsite and working within (1) hour**
  • May need to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong verbal communications skills
  • Commitment to providing superior customer satisfaction
