Position Summary

We are seeking a data-driven, empathetic, and hands-on Director of Marketing to lead our marketing efforts during a time of critical growth and expansion. You are passionate about mental health, storytelling and supporting our mission to “Heal teens, restore families, rebuild futures.”

Key Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & Website Performance

Oversee the MuirWoodTeen.com website, collaborating with web developers, agencies, and content partners to ensure a high-performance, optimized and emotionally resonant experience.

Own the digital growth roadmap, with a focus on high-converting SEO, SEM, and web performance strategies.

Lead monthly reporting, analytics reviews, and data-driven insights tied to admissions growth and key KPIs and oversee budget.

SEO, AEO & Organic Growth

Oversee end-to-end SEO strategy and execution in collaboration with content teams and agency partners.

Manage and evolve content calendar (blog, landing pages)

Maintain site EEAT, backlink strategies, and on-page optimization standards.

Paid Media & SEM

Lead SEM efforts within a lean budget, ensuring high ROI through brand protection, keyword bidding efficiency, and targeted ad creative.

Work with paid search channels to design, test, and optimize landing pages and campaigns.

Social Media Strategy & Management

Develop and execute a platform-specific social media strategy aligned with brand voice, seasonal themes, and engagement goals.

Manage day-to-day content planning, scheduling, and posting across key social channels and emerging platforms as needed.

Partner with clinical and leadership teams to develop content that reflects our values of empathy, clinical excellence, and long-term healing.

Monitor engagement, respond to community questions/comments working with the admissions team, and track performance metrics to inform content improvements.

PR & Communications Management

Lead external communications and earned media strategy to elevate Muir Wood’s reputation, partnering with press and thought leadership outlets to highlight clinical excellence and mission impact.

Support leadership with strategic communications and public-facing opportunities, including interviews, presentations, and authored content.

Local Marketing Support

Lead Local Marketing Initiatives: Develop and execute local marketing campaigns and new location openings, tailored to each community where Muir Wood operates, aligning with local outreach goals and increasing awareness among families, schools, and referring providers.

Community Outreach: Cultivate relationships with school counselors, therapists, pediatricians, and other referral sources through events and targeted campaigns that build trust and reputation at the local level.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with admissions, clinical, and operations teams to align marketing with care delivery and community reputation.

Work closely with the executive team on strategy and optimization roadmaps.

Requirements

Qualifications

6–10 years of marketing experience, with at least 4 years in healthcare, behavioral health, or purpose-driven consumer services. Ideally, experience marketing to parents or caregivers in healthcare/education settings.

Proven success managing website optimization, SEO strategy, and paid search.

Deep understanding of marketing analytics, CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce preferred), CallTrackingMetrics, and Conversion Rate Optimization tactics. Experience with WordPress, GA4, and content strategy.

Strong writing/editing instincts with the ability to translate clinical complexity into emotionally compelling language.

Experience managing external vendors and cross-functional projects.

Mission-driven mindset; able to operate both strategically and tactically with empathy, urgency, and clarity.

Represent the marketing function in meetings, with partners, clients with professionalism and clarity, aligning marketing priorities with broader organizational goals.

Travel

10-20% for Bay Area based candidates

Education/ Licenses/ Certifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

Compensation

$140,000 – $170,000 base salary, plus annual bonus eligibility
