Mackay Communications, Inc., in San Pedro, CA, seeks Engineering Tech. (Maritime Electronics):
- Install, service, and repair maritime electronic/electrical equipment such as radars, sonars, navigation, and communication equipment.
- Inspect components of technical designs to identify potential problems such as voltage shorts or irregularities.
- Perform repairs and/or corrective preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Modify, update, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment and designs when required.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions and/or design issues, including the adjustment and replacement of defective components.
- Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
- Review wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions to resolve/prevent issues.
- Respond to management requests for client installation and service.
- Document installation and/or service rendered.
- Prepare detailed service and failure records.
- Inspect designs for quality control, report findings, and recommend changes if necessary.
