Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games and more – and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the Disney Store e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney Store locations globally. DCP Legal is seeking an experienced paralegal to support DCP’s merchandise licensing business, the world’s leading consumer products licensor.

This role will be based in Glendale, California.

What You Will Do


  • Draft merchandise license agreements and amendments.
  • Draf services agreements, promotional agreements, NDAs, authorization letters, and other types of correspondence and agreements with licensees and vendors.
  • Work closely with attorneys, other paralegals, and clients within the Commercialization teams, Contract Administration, and other internal partners as needed to finalize license agreements.
  • Attend contract status meetings on a weekly basis to discuss outstanding questions and issues.
  • Maintain knowledge bank of standard license agreement provisions and franchise guidelines that may impact such provisions.
  • Address miscellaneous projects as they arise, including rights clearances and rights management support.


Required Qualifications & Skills


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with contract drafting in a commercial or transactional work setting or related
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including with office productivity software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently, without extensive administrative support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.


Preferred Qualifications


  • At least 2 years’ experience at a law firm, corporate law department, or corporate contract administration department.
  • Experience with Intellectual Property issues/matters.


Education


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or a Paralegal by education and work experience as set forth by California Business and Profession Code, Section 6450(c).

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $71,000-$91,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
