What you’ll do:
Shape the future of truck body design and manufacturing ss the CAD Drafter for Royal Truck Body (A Shyft Group Brand) based at our manufacturing facility in Carson, CA , You will create accurate 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, contributing directly to our product development process.
Core Responsibilities:
- Generate detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings in SolidWorks based on project requirements and engineering direction.
- Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) for design projects and manage CAD drawing organization within the PDM system.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and sales teams to support project needs.
- Create technical drawings and visual aids to support manufacturing processes and sales efforts.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to design improvements and problem-solving.
What you need to be successful:
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer, Drafter, or in a related role
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD design software
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles (ANSI-Y14.5)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Word)
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
