The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of our marketing strategy. This role will focus on creating, implementing, tracking and optimizing the Round Rock Garden Center's digital and traditional marketing campaigns across various marketing channels. This position requires strong communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
'Prepares, develops and distributes printed and electronic content to support external marketing and/or internal communication strategies and plans.
Ensures that all written communications and signage throughout the property use correct syntax and are free of spelling or grammatical errors.
Consistently follows brand and style guidelines.
Collaborates with management in advocating best practice communications to the business, both internal and external.
Creates weekly newsletter, ready for proof by 2pm every Thursday and distributed at 9am every Friday.
Distributes Birthday Coupons to customers on the first of every month.
Maintains the company website, ensuring all information is up to date, consistent, accurate and appropriate.
Creates and distributes timely advertisement materials for AdPages and Community Impact while adhering to ad schedules.
Coordinates the planning, scheduling, and promoting of on-site employee events, including, but not limited to, set-up/tear down, food and beverages, event registration, promotional items, display units, marketing strategy and execution.
Partners with the Sales manager on the planning, scheduling, and promoting of classes, trainings and workshops for external customers.
Develops and publishes engaging Facebook posts on a daily basis, following the 80-20 rule (80% posts should be to inform, educate and entertain, while 20% should be to promote our products).
Responds to store emails and answers customer telephone calls.
Conducts market research to identify customer trends, competitor offerings and demographic data.
Makes recommendations for the distribution and creation of collateral materials with the intention of increasing sales and brand awareness among target customers and clients.
Establishes and maintains relationships with new and existing clients through networking and prospecting.
Create and publish blogs and informational articles online as requested by management.
Create and distribute informational videos as required by management.
Ensures marketing expenditures remain within budget
Attend weekly mgr. meetings
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Attention to detail.
Communicates professionally and effectively both verbally and written.
Ability to create social media content on platforms including, but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate an advanced understanding of business operations and financials.
Ability to communicate with customers, other peers, and management.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task.
Must be current on plant and product knowledge.
Team oriented and able to work under the direction of the Manager
Strong time management skills.
Knowledge of basic math skills
Persuasive communication skills.
Reliable transportation
3 + years of Marketing Experience preferred.
Ability to take visually pleasing photographs of plants and products
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Photo editing software.
Experience with Canva and Constant Contact a plus.
Internet browser knowledge and experience posting on social media platforms.
Ability to handle extreme Texas weather and work in it for extended periods of time
Physical requirements of the job:
The ability to lift up to 20lbs.
Sitting for up to 8 hours per day.
Kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Pushing or pulling objects.
Bending/stooping.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent or industry experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Advertising preferred.
