- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required, MSN or DNP strongly preferred
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in skilled nursing facilities including multi-site operations
- Deep knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, CMS guidelines, and QAPI initiatives
- Proven record of designing and implementing scalable clinical programs and systems
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor clinical leaders
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, evaluate clinical outcomes, and drive organizational performance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Willingness to travel regionally and nationally with overnight stays as required
- Establish and maintain clinical protocols, policies, and best practices that aligh with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary clinical leader in advancing the clinical outcomes for the division through the support of the Senior Management Team and other Clinical leaders.
- Provide accessible, timely, efficient, and cost-effective care by utilizing evidence-based practice and quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Implement regulatory recommendations to ensure continued compliance related to patient care.
- Adopt and implement Cantex’s Clinical Policies and Procedures and Patient Care Management Systems. Ensure these policies and procedures are current with the standards of practice and reviewed annually.
- Develop and implement forward-thinking clinical programs to enhance care delivery and clinical operations efficiency across the division.
- Monitor and evaluate quality, appropriateness, and outcomes of patient care delivered based on established nursing standards of practice.
- Participate (on-site or off-site) in the federal, state regulatory site visits and the Validation Survey process, when appropriate.
- Direct the development of clinical education on trends identified during surveys, family complaints, and review of CASPER Reports/Quality Measures.
- Collaborate with the nutrition services team to ensure that clinical and dietary recommendations meet the clinical goals for patients/residents.
- Partner with leaders overseeing Regulatory Compliance to provide guidance and oversight for any internal and external reportable event, recommend a plan of action, and provide feedback to the Senior Management team when appropriate.
- Preside over the Corporate Clinical Committee, and the Corporate Validation Survey Team and report findings to the Senior Management Team. Participate in the Clinical Risk Management Committee.
- Participate in chart audit for the benefit of reviewing care rendered, outcomes achieved for certain reportables and general areas of concern, i.e. family complaints, trend concerns, etc.
- Lead efforts in retaining top nursing leadership by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Assist in the culture change initiative for Cantex including introducing programmatic changes that follow the spirit of patient-centered services.
- Apply the principles and values of customer service and quality assurance performance improvement while performing day-to-day activities of the position.
- Maintain and protect confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel, and strategic issues.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Chief Operations Officer.
